Ask Sage Successfully Deploys Generative AI Platform on cARMY Cloud

Army becomes first DoD service to implement Generative AI, demonstrating how technology is accelerating productivity, mission impact across public sector

ARLINGTON, VA, September 10, 2024 - Ask Sage, Inc., a leading Generative AI platform for both government and commercial sectors, announced the successful launch of its Generative AI platform on cARMY, the cloud infrastructure of the US Army. The Army’s implementation, initiated with 400 new user accounts and a goal to grow to an enterprise-wide deployment, makes it the first DoD service to embark on an AI transformation of this scale.

Over 14,000 government teams and 2,500 companies use Ask Sage for access to a secure and extensible Multimodal Generative AI platform that enables a wide range of government and commercial use cases, including coding, cybersecurity, compliance, contracting, acquisition, and data analysis. The company is currently the only Generative AI platform to receive FedRAMP high and DoD IL5 Authority to Operate (ATO).

Deploying Ask Sage’s Generative AI platform in the cARMY Cloud and an IL 5 environment unlocks soldier access to Azure Gov OpenAI on a Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) fabric. Further, by adopting Generative AI in an IL5 environment - which includes highly sensitive military or government information - the Army can securely accelerate the velocity of its software, cybersecurity and acquisition teams.

"It’s a great privilege to bring Generative AI to the cARMY cloud at IL5, where it is the most needed, and where leaders have been truly visionary in their focus on tangible, secure use cases for the technology,” said Nic Chaillan, CEO of Ask Sage, Inc. “The announcement is just the beginning of Generative AI’s momentum in the DoD – dozens of defense and civilian agencies are set to follow the U.S. Army’s lead and accelerate their Generative AI adoption.”

The Army recently provided guidance on how to develop, deploy, and use Generative AI within the service to improve operational efficiency, and the deployment reflects numerous public comments by Army CIO leadership advocating for the DoD to adopt large language models (LLMs) and other Generative AI capabilities.

“I’m super excited in this space right now because industry has come to the table in a very good way with lots of lessons learned,” said Leonel Garciga, U.S. Army Chief Information Officer at the recent TechNet Augusta Conference. “Everyone is being pragmatic, like, ‘Here’s where we are in this story; this isn’t a 100% solution; maybe this gives you some lift.’ I think this next stage is how do we make it available more broadly.”

Public sector users of Ask Sage can tap the Generative AI platform for an ever-expanding set of use cases, including:
